O Bailado do Deus Morto is a screenplay by Flavio de Carvalho, written in 1933. The artist Dacio Bicudo had the idea to adapt this play into a film. He divided the screenplay’s scenes, recreating and tightening the narrative in various short-movies, which were produces by thirty artists/directors, among the Dacio himself, and José Celso Martinez Corrêa, who introduced the movie. In the opening night, Katia Canton relaunched her book Fantasias: Flávio de Carvalho, with drawings made by Flávio de Carvalho, in 1953, for the ballet A Cangaceira and poems that reflect the expressivity of each character created by the artist.
